Create and manage custom AI agents on mobile to automate tasks and workflows.

What Are Custom Agents?

Taskade AI Agents are designed to automate routine activities like research, task management, and content creation. You can create a team of custom AI agents, each with a unique personality, skills, and knowledge, and access them on all your devices, including iOS and Android.

Create a Custom Agent

  1. Open your workspace and tap the 🤖 Agents tile at the top.
    ​

  2. Tap ➕ Create agent to open the agent creator.
    ​

  3. Choose a template or select Blank to start from scratch.
    ​

  4. Tap Create in the top-right corner.
    ​

    • Create a unique name for your custom agent.
      ​

    • Tap the robot icon to select an avatar or upload your own.
      ​

    • Set the Tone for the default agent output (see next section).
      ​

    • Tap Create in the top-right corner to save the new agent.

Set Agent Tone

You can change the tone of your custom AI agents — whether you prefer a friendly chat or a more formal conversation — to match exactly how you like to communicate.

  1. Open your workspace and tap the 🤖 Agents tile at the top.
    ​

    • (method #1) Tap the pencil icon ✏️ next to an existing agent.
      ​

      • Scroll down in the General tab and tap the Tone button.
        ​

      • Choose a target tone from the drop-down list.
        ​

    • (method #2) Tap ➕ Create agent to open the agent creator.
      ​

      • Choose a template or select Blank to start from scratch.
        ​

      • Tap Create in the top-right corner.
        ​

      • Scroll down and tap the Tone button.
        ​

      • Choose a target tone from the drop-down list.
        ​

Add and Edit Agent Commands

Each agent can have multiple custom commands you can use in the project editor.

  1. Tap the 🤖 Agents tile again.
    ​

  2. Tap the ✏️ pencil icon next to your agent.
    ​

  3. Go to the Commands tab at the top.
    ​

  4. Choose an existing command or tap ➕ Add Command and fill in the details:
    ​

    • Name: The name of the command accessible via / commands.
      ​

    • Prompt: The action you want the agent to execute.
      ​

    • ✔️ Background Task: Toggle on for long-running, multi-level tasks.
      ​

    • 🧭 Web Search: Toggle on to give your agent access to the Internet.

Upload Agent Knowledge

You can use your files & documents or external resources to train your agents:

  1. Tap the 🤖 Agents tile again.
    ​

  2. Tap the ✏️ pencil icon next to your agent.
    ​

  3. Go to the Knowledge tab at the top.
    ​

  4. Toggle the Enable knowledge slider on.
    ​

  5. Choose one of the available options to add agent knowledge:
    ​

    • Upload File — upload files & documents from your device.
      ​

    • Add from media — choose from previously uploaded documents.
      ​

    • Add Link — add knowledge from a URL.
      ​

    • Add YouTube — choose a YouTube video (the agent will use a transcript).

💡 Note: Agent knowledge can combine many different sources.

Set Background Tasks

Agents can perform multiple complex tasks in the background.

  1. Tap the 🤖 Agents tile again.
    ​

  2. Tap the ✏️ pencil icon next to your agent.
    ​

  3. Go to the Commands tab at the top.
    ​

  4. Choose an existing command or tap ➕ Add Command and fill in the details.
    ​

  5. Toggle on ✔️ Background Task for long-running, multi-level tasks.

Edit, Copy, or Delete an Agent

  1. Tap the 🤖 Agents tile again.
    ​

  2. Tap the three dots ··· next to your agent.
    ​

    • Tap ✏️ Edit agent to modify agent settings.
      ​

    • Tap 📋 Copy agent to copy the agent to a different workspace/folder.
      ​

    • Tap 🗑️ Delete to remove the agent from your workspace/folder.

Choose a Language for AI Responses

AI responds in the language of the prompt. Here's how to change the output language:

  • (method 1): Specify the language in the prompt.
    ​

    • e.g. "Respond in Spanish: What's the weather like in Madrid?"
      ​

  • (method 2): Provide context in the target language.
    ​

    • e.g. "¿Cómo está el clima en Madrid?" will receive a response in Spanish.

Use the Agent

There are two ways you can use your custom AI agents:

  • (method 1): Chat with the agent:
    ​

    1. Tap the 🤖 Agents tile.
      ​

    2. Select your custom AI agent.
      ​

    3. Start a conversation and ask your agent questions.

  • (method 2): Use custom agent commands:
    ​

    1. Open a project in the workspace/folder where you created the agent.
      ​

    2. Type / + the name of your custom command, e.g. "/task breakdown".
      ​

      • You don't need to type the entire command.
        ​

    3. Choose a command from the pop-up menu.
