What Are Project Views?

Explore different ways to visualize your work with Taskade's project views.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Taskade stores your tasks and notes in a tree-structured database that allows you and your team to work the way you feel the most productive. Each project view offers a unique way of visualizing and interacting with your project data.

There are seven views you can choose from (click the links to learn more):
โ€‹

The List or Outline view lets you organize tasks in a straightforward, linear format. It's perfect for creating detailed outlines, writing, and managing to-do lists.

โ€‹

The Board or Kanban view displays tasks in columns that represent different stages of your workflow. You can drag and drop tasks between columns to update their status.

๐ŸŸข Table View

The Table view presents tasks in a spreadsheet-like format. This view is excellent for anyone who prefers a more data-centric approach to task management.

๐ŸŸ  Mind Map View

The Mind Map view allows you to create visual diagrams where ideas and tasks are linked in a web-like structure. Itโ€™s a fantastic tool for planning and organizing thoughts.

๐ŸŸฃ Org Chart View

The Organizational Chart view displays the hierarchy and structure of teams or projects. Itโ€™s useful for understanding roles and responsibilities at a glance.

โšช๏ธ Calendar View

The Calendar view provides a traditional calendar workflow for scheduling tasks over days, weeks, or months. It will help you keep track of any dates and deadlines.

๐ŸŸค Gantt Chart View

The Gantt Chart view offers a visual timeline that shows the start and end dates of tasks and their dependencies. Itโ€™s ideal for managing complex projects.

The Origami Method

In Origami, you're always working with paper while shaping it. In Taskade, you're always working with a project while switching between project views. The project data itself doesn't change, only how you view itโ€”hence the name project views.

Choosing a Project View

Click the icons at the top of your project to toggle views. Your data is "persistent," which means that changing views doesn't affect project contents.

You can set a default view for your project by selecting the current view again. The next time anyone visits the project, it will open in the default view.
