Unpublish Your App
You can always update your published app by making changes.
The same URL stays active, so your users never lose access.
To unpublish an app:
Go to the Publish menu again.
βClick Unpublish app at the bottom of the pop-up.
βThe app will no longer be accessible to others.
App Visibility Settings
You have two main options for how people can access your app.
ποΈ Public Apps
Anyone can discover and use your app
βYour app may be featured in the community gallery
βPerfect for apps you want to share widely
βCan be submitted as templates for others to clone
π Private Apps
Only accessible via the direct link you share
βWon't appear in public galleries
βGreat for internal team tools or client-specific applications
βYou control exactly who gets access
Cloning Apps
Cloning is different from just using an app. When you clone an app, you create a complete copy of the app and all its connected parts in someone else's workspace.
π‘ Note: Think of cloning as sharing the blueprint and building materials.
To enable the cloning feature for your app:
Click Publish (see the first section of this guide) β set App Visibility to Public.
Others can now open the URL and click "Clone App".
βThey choose a name and workspace for their copy.
βSelect a color to personalize the new app space.
Customization and Branding
When you publish your Genesis app, you can use customization and branding options to create a professional experience that matches your unique style. Customization makes your app professional and helps build brand recognition.
Click Publish in the top-right corner β publish your app.
βChoose Branding from the drop-down list.
βCustomize the settings (scroll down for details).
Page Title
Set a descriptive title that appears in browser tabs and search results
Keep it concise and descriptive of your app's purpose
This also appears when users bookmark or share your app
π‘ Note: Keep titles under 60 characters for optimal display in search results. Focus on your app's main function or benefit.
Description
Write a brief description explaining what your app does
This appears in search results and social media shares
Aim for 1-2 sentences that clearly communicate the value
Focus on the problem your app solves
π‘ Note: Write descriptions between 120-160 characters for best SEO results. Think of it as your app's elevator pitch.
Site Name
Your company or organization name
This appears in various sharing contexts
Helps establish brand credibility and recognition
π‘ Note: Use your official business name or brand name consistently across all platforms for better recognition.
Search Engine Visibility
Control how search engines discover and index your app. This determines whether your app appears in Google searches or stays private to invited users only.
Option | Description | Best For |
Allow search engines to index this page | Makes your app discoverable through search engines | Public tools, marketing apps, community resources |
Don't allow search engines to index this page | Keeps your app private from search engine results | Internal company apps, private workflows, sensitive data |
Allow indexing but don't follow links | App appears in search but links within the app aren't crawled | Apps with external links you don't want to promote |
Block search engines completely | Maximum privacy - no search engine access at all | Confidential apps, beta testing, restricted access tools |
π‘ Note: Not sure which option to choose? Enable indexing for public tools and disable for internal company apps or sensitive workflows.
Social Media Customization
Configure how your app appears when shared on social platforms. Well-optimized social previews increase click-through rates and build trust with potential users.
Format: @yourcompany (optional)
Creates a direct connection to your brand's social presence
Visual Customization
Align your app's appearance with your brand colors and design language. Visual consistency builds recognition and makes your app feel professional and trustworthy.
Custom Colors
Set default theme colors with your brand colors
Choose between Light and Dark theme options
Customize primary colors to match your brand identity
Maintains consistency with your other digital properties
π‘ Note: Not sure which option to choose? Enable indexing for public tools and disable for internal company apps or sensitive workflows.
Security Considerations
Only publish apps that don't contain sensitive information.
βUse private links for internal or confidential applications.
βRemember that public apps can be discovered by anyone.
βTemplate links share your entire workflow structure.
