Overview

Once you've built an amazing app with Genesis, you can share it with others in different ways. Whether you want to publish it for everyone to use, let others clone your entire workflow, or simply share a template, we've got you covered.

What "Publish" Means

Once published, your app gets:

  • A live, shareable URL that works on any device

  • Real-time functionality for all users

  • Functional backend powered by your own Taskade workspace

  • Cloning functionality (if you enabled it)

πŸ’‘ Note: Want to collaborate on your apps with other workspace members? Visit our guide on how to invite others to your app spaces.

Publish Your App

Publishing makes your app available to anyone with the link.

  1. Enable publishing: Click Publish in the top-right corner.

  2. Set visibility: Enable/disable app cloning (see the next section).

  3. Publish: Once you've adjusted the settings, click Publish.

Congratulations! Your app is instantly available and others can interact with it. πŸ₯³

What's next?

  • Copy the direct app link or share your app on social media.

  • Embed the app on your website or blog.

  • Share the app on your social media.

Unpublish Your App

You can always update your published app by making changes.

The same URL stays active, so your users never lose access.

To unpublish an app:

  • Go to the Publish menu again.

  • Click Unpublish app at the bottom of the pop-up.

  • The app will no longer be accessible to others.

App Visibility Settings

You have two main options for how people can access your app.

πŸ‘οΈ Public Apps

  • Anyone can discover and use your app

  • Your app may be featured in the community gallery

  • Perfect for apps you want to share widely

  • Can be submitted as templates for others to clone

πŸ”’ Private Apps

  • Only accessible via the direct link you share

  • Won't appear in public galleries

  • Great for internal team tools or client-specific applications

  • You control exactly who gets access

Cloning Apps

Cloning is different from just using an app. When you clone an app, you create a complete copy of the app and all its connected parts in someone else's workspace.

πŸ’‘ Note: Think of cloning as sharing the blueprint and building materials.

To enable the cloning feature for your app:

  • Click Publish (see the first section of this guide) β†’ set App Visibility to Public.

  • Others can now open the URL and click "Clone App".

    • They choose a name and workspace for their copy.

    • Select a color to personalize the new app space.

Customization and Branding

When you publish your Genesis app, you can use customization and branding options to create a professional experience that matches your unique style. Customization makes your app professional and helps build brand recognition.

  • Click Publish in the top-right corner β†’ publish your app.

  • Choose Branding from the drop-down list.

  • Customize the settings (scroll down for details).

Page Title

  • Set a descriptive title that appears in browser tabs and search results

  • Keep it concise and descriptive of your app's purpose

  • This also appears when users bookmark or share your app

πŸ’‘ Note: Keep titles under 60 characters for optimal display in search results. Focus on your app's main function or benefit.

Description

  • Write a brief description explaining what your app does

  • This appears in search results and social media shares

  • Aim for 1-2 sentences that clearly communicate the value

  • Focus on the problem your app solves

πŸ’‘ Note: Write descriptions between 120-160 characters for best SEO results. Think of it as your app's elevator pitch.

Site Name

  • Your company or organization name

  • This appears in various sharing contexts

  • Helps establish brand credibility and recognition

πŸ’‘ Note: Use your official business name or brand name consistently across all platforms for better recognition.
