When to Share a Project
Share individual projects when you need collaboration on specific data or content, rather than the entire app workspace. Here are a few scenarios:
You want team members to collaborate on specific database records.
βOthers need to add or edit data in your Taskade Genesis app's database.
βYou're working with traditional Taskade content (tasks, documents, mind maps).
βYou need granular access control for different datasets.
βTeam members only need access to specific information.
Invite Collaborators
You can invite an unlimited number of users to a project via email, or simply by copying an invite link. Follow these steps to get started:
β
Open your Genesis app space.
βClick β° to see the contents of the app β choose a project in the left sidebar.
Click the π€ Share button in the top right-hand corner.
Copy the invite link and share it via email, text, or any other way
βAlternatively, enter an email address.
βYou can also specify the level of access and select the default view.
Share with Google Contacts
You can quickly share Taskade projects with your Google contacts.
Connect Google Contacts to Taskade:
βClick your profile picture (top-right corner).
βSelect βοΈ Settings from the drop-down list.
βMove to the Connected Accounts tab at the top.
βClick Connect in the Google Contacts tile.
βFollow the instructions and click Allow in the last step.
Invite your Google contacts to projects:
βClick the Share button in the top-right corner of a project.
βSelect Invite to project and go to the βοΈ Email tab.
βType an email or choose it from the list.
βChoose source:
βGoogle Domain β all email contacts in a business domain.
βGoogle Contacts β Google contacts in your personal Google contacts.
Embed a Project
If you don't want to invite people to Taskade, you can still show your project to the world by embedding it on your website or blog with the β Embed feature.
Click the Share button again and select Invite to Project.
βOpen the < > Embed tab and click Copy.
βAdd the custom HTML code to your website or blog.
π‘Note: The new embed menu lets you decide if the project will be embedded in light or dark mode. You can also set the width/height and hide branding.
Regenerate Link
You can quickly revoke access to any links you have shared by regenerating the shared link. This feature will create a fresh link to the Project. To regenerate a link:
Click the Share button (see the first section) and select Invite to Project.
βClick Regenerate Link in the π Invite Link tab.
β
π‘ Note: Regenerated links cannot be restored.
Publish a Project
Use a Public link when you want to share the project with users without access to comments and chat. Only the people with the link will be able to access the project.
Click the Share button (see the first section) in the top-right corner of a project.
βSelect Invite to project and select the Public tab.
βEnable the Share to web toggle.
β(optional) Toggle Require password to protect the project.
βClick Copy link and share it with other people.
Share a Project on Mobile
Open a Project and click the three dots ( Β·Β·Β· ) in the top right-hand corner.
βSelect π€ Share and choose an Editor or Viewer link.
βAlternatively, tap your profile picture in the top right-hand corner.
βSelect π€ Invite people and enter an email/Taskade username.
What happens if I send a user both the Edit and View link?
β If the user has an account:
βThe First link received will be the respective permission for the user.
βEg: If they open the project with a Viewer link, they are now a viewer.
βOpening an Editor link will not change their editing privileges.
β
β If the user does not have an account:
βOpening the Editor link will give the guest permission to edit the project.
βOpening the Viewer link will allow guests to only view the project.
