How It Works

Did you know that Taskade features a lineup of keyboard shortcuts that can help you get work done faster and smarter? Whether you're new to Taskade or have been using our apps for some time, key combinations are a great tool for supercharging your workflow!

💡 Note: Press ⌨️ ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + / to show keyboard shortcuts in the app.

🟣 Text Formatting Shortcuts

  • ⌘/Ctrl + b = Apply bold to selected text

  • ⌘/Ctrl + i = Apply italics to selected text

  • ⌘/Ctrl + u = Underline selected text

  • ⌘/Ctrl + Enter = s̶t̶r̶i̶k̶e̶t̶h̶r̶o̶u̶g̶h̶ text / complete a task

  • ⌘/Ctrl + e = Highlight selected text

🟢 General Taskade Shortcuts

  • ⌘/Ctrl+ k = Run a global search inside a Workspace

  • ⌘/Ctrl + f = Search within the currently open Project

  • ⌘/Ctrl + \ = Toggle (show/hide) the Chat box

  • ⌘/Ctrl + / = Open the Add-On menu

  • ⌘/Ctrl + = Open the More menu to edit a Project

  • ⌘/Ctrl + . = open Side Bar

🟡 Navigation Shortcuts

  • Shift + ⌘/Ctrl + [ or control + Shift + Tab = Move to previous tab

  • Shift + ⌘/Ctrl + ] or control + Tab = Move to next tab

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 1 = Tab 1

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 2 = Tab 2

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 3 = Tab 3

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 4 = Tab 4

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 5 = Tab 5

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 6 = Tab 6

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 7 = Tab 7

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 8 = Tab 8

  • ⌘/Ctrl + 9 = Last tab

🔵 Project Editing Shortcuts

  • Enter = Line break / add a new task

  • Tab = Indent task / move right

  • Shift + Tab = Outdent / move left

  • ⌘/Ctrl + Enter = Check / uncheck a task

  • ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + Delete = Delete entire task / line

  • ⌘/Ctrl + Up/Down = Collapse (fold) / expand (unfold) a task

  • @ = “Mention” to notify a Project member or link to a Project

  • # = Add a clickable task for sorting Projects

  • Fn + /= Jump to the top/bottom of a Project

  • ↑ / ↓ = Navigate up or down

  • Shift + ↑ / ↓ = Multi-select several blocks

  • Backspace = delete text or entire task

  • / = Navigate left or right

  • ⌘/Ctrl + d = Duplicate a task / block

  • ⌘/Ctrl + z = Undo a series of actions

  • ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + z = Redo a series of actions

🟤 Project Views Shortcuts

  • (In Mind Map and Org chart views) ⌘/Ctrl + - or + = Zoom out / zoom in

  • ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + > / < = Toggle views forward and backward

🟠 Add On Menu Shortcuts

  • ⌘/Ctrl + / = Open Add-On Menu

    • D = Due Date

    • A = Assign

    • C = Comment

    • F = Upload File

    • E = Embed

    • T = Timer

    • R = Reaction

🔴 Node Formatting

You can quickly change the type of a node (task) by adding the following characters at the beginning of a line followed by a space:

  • [] to convert a node into Check 1

  • () to convert a node into Check 2

  • <3 to convert a node into Check 3

  • # to convert a node into H1

  • ## to convert a node into H2

  • - to convert a node into Bullet 1

  • <| to convert a node into Bullet 2

  • <> to convert a node into Bullet 3

💡 Note: You can also change node type using /slash commands. Type / + node type (e.g. "/check1") to transform nodes into tasks, bullets, or headings. Visit ⚡ Slash Commands to learn more.
