Create Your Digital Notebook

Workspaces and folders let you sort your projects just like you would stack notebooks on a shelf. Each workspace can hold multiple folders, and each folder can be filled with your individual projects – think of them as clusters of notes on different topics or areas of your life.

    1. in the main dashboard, click ➕ in the sidebar on the left.

    2. Enter the name of your workspace and choose a color palette.

    3. Choose an emoji or upload your own workspace logo.

    4. (optional) Share the workspace with others.

    1. Inside your workspace, click the ➕ New Folder button.

    2. Enter the name of your folder and choose a color palette.

    3. Choose an emoji or upload your own workspace logo.

    4. (optional) Share the folder with others.

Create a Note

  1. Open your workspace/folder.

  2. Click ➕ New Project (top-right corner) to create a note.

  3. Open your new note and start typing!

Start with an Outline

Taskade is an outliner that helps you keep your notes tidy and organized. Whether you're typing up a quick list or planning something big, Taskade lets you do it your way.

  • Start from scratch:

    1. Open your project and just start typing your main points.

    2. To indent an outline level, select a node and press the ⌨️ Tab key.

    3. To outdent an outline level, use the ⌨️ Shift + Tab keyboard shortcut.

    4. Keep going until you've got all your ideas down, nested just right.

  • Let the Workflow Generator guide you:

    1. Click ➕ New Project (top-right corner) in your workspace/folder.

    2. Describe the topic of your note or use one of the available templates.

    3. Press ⌨️ Enter and watch the magic!

  • Use the AI Assistant:

    1. Open your project and type the topic of your note/document.

    2. Add whatever details you want included.

    3. Type /outline and let the AI Assistant generate a structure for you.

Collaborate on Notes

Collaborative note-taking is fun. Invite your friends for group brainstorming, work on the draft of your bestselling novel with an editor, or compile collective research.

Here's how to kick it off:

    1. In your Taskade workspace, open the note you want to share.

    2. Click the Share button in the top right-hand corner and select Invite to Project.

    3. Enter an email address or copy the invite link and share it via email or text.

    4. You can also specify the level of access for users who join.

    1. Select a node or task.

    2. Click the three dots (···) on the right.

    3. Choose 💬 Comment from the list or press C.

    4. Click the 💬 chat balloon icon under a node to view and edit comments.

    1. Click the 📞 Start Call button at the top of the chat window (on the right).

    2. Click Join meeting to start your video call!

Organize and Refine Your Notes

Notes in Taskade are designed to be flexible and fully customizable. You can easily drag and drop paragraphs & blocks, use #hashtags to filter key concepts, switch up the formatting, add comments, and even attach images, files, and documents.

Here a few quick tips:

    1. Select the paragraph or term your want to add a #hashtag to.

    2. Type # followed by the name of your hashtag and press ⌨️ Enter.

      • (method #1) Click the new #hashtag to filter terms.

      • (method #2) Type the #hashtag in the Search Bar to filter.

    1. Select a paragraph.

    2. Click the ➕ Add-ons button on the right.

    3. Choose ☁️ Upload File from the list or press D.

    4. Alternatively, drag & drop a file from your computer to the node.
