Initiate video calls directly from your Taskade projects.

Overview

Every project in Taskade is a self-contained collaboration hub with integrated chat and video calls. All team members invited to that project can join an existing video conference or start their own call without a time limit.

πŸ’‘ Note: Video calls are optimized for up to 20 participants.


Start a Video Call (Desktop/Web)

  1. Open a project and invite team members.
    ​

  2. Click the πŸ“ž Start Call button at the top of the chat window.
    ​

  3. Enter your nameand customize meeting settings (optional).
    ​

    • Click the microphone icon πŸŽ™ to edit audio settings.
      ​

    • Click the camera icon πŸŽ₯ to edit video settings.
      ​

    • Click the picture icon πŸ–Ό to enable a virtual background.
      ​

    • Click the gear icon βš™οΈ for additional options.
      ​

  4. Click Join meeting to start your video call!


Share a Meeting Link (Guests)

Want to run a video conference with participants who don't have a Taskade account?

  • Open the project where you want to start a call.
    ​

  • Click the πŸ’¬ chat bubble button at the top.
    ​

  • Click the three dots in the top-right corner and choose on of the three options:
    ​

    • Copy Call Link: Copy a shareable, direct link.
      ​

    • Google Calendar: Create an event in your Google calendar.
      ​

    • Yahoo Calendar: Create an event in your Yahoo calendar.
      ​​


Start a Call (iOS / Android)

  1. Open the Taskade app on your mobile device.
    ​

  2. Navigate to a project and click the πŸ’¬ speech ballon icon to open the chat.
    ​

  3. Click the πŸ“ž receiver icon at the top right-hand corner to start a call.

Set Browser Permissions

Make sure your browser has permission to access your microphone and/or camera before you start a call. Check your settings for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

Select a Virtual Background

  1. Initiate a call and click the picture icon πŸ–Ό to browse virtual backgrounds.
    ​

  2. Choose one of the options or click βŠ• Add background to upload an image.
    ​

  3. Click Apply to confirm your choice.
    ​

  4. Click Join meeting to start your video call!

πŸ’‘ Note: Click Β·Β·Β· and πŸ–Ό Select background during meetings.

Enable Screen Sharing in MacOS

MacOS users must give explicit permission in System Preferences to allow screen recording. Follow these steps if screen sharing fails:

  1. Open your Mac's System Preferences.
    ​

  2. Click on the Security & Privacy icon and select the Privacy tab.
    ​

  3. Check if Screen Recording is enabled for Taskade.
