Overview
Create effective test cases using AI Agents with Taskade, while following your current templates or framework. Developers, testers, and project managers can work together to structure test cases based on established templates, and efficiently generate and track comprehensive test scenarios in Taskade. This approach ensures consistency and quality in the testing process.
Here's what we'll cover:
How to generate a basic agent to help with test case generation.
How to use different templates and formats for test cases generation.
How to set up a project to help test case tracking.
Generating an Agent
Generate an Agent
Click on Create agent or Create with AI in the AI agents tab of the workspace.
Describe your agent's task as a prompt for the agent to be generated. In this use case, we will be creating an agent to help with generating test cases.
Customizing the Agent
Adding a Template to the Agent's Knowledge
Click on the Drop Down Arrow besides the agent's name and Edit Agent.
Click on the Knowledge tab. Click on Enable Knowledge.
Add a Taskade Project containing the template/example you want the test case to be generated with.
You can choose to upload a PDF file, a Text File or other supported file formats instead of the Taskade Project if your test case template/example exist in those formats instead.
Click Update to save your changes.
Generating the Test Case
Using the Agent
Click on the created Agent in the AI agents tab of the workspace.
In the chat, prompt it to generate the a test case based on the template given.
The Agent's knowledge is only accessed when the response contains a Finished message and the response shows the Sources which it referenced when answering the prompt.
If the Agent doesn't reference the knowledge source, try making your prompt more specific.
With the generated test case, you can create a Taskade project by clicking on the Create New icon and then Create Project below the response for further tracking/collaboration.
Using Different Formats
Selenium Example
If you have a pre-existing software in use for testing, you can also generate test case scripts/formats/templates in that respective format by customizing the Agent's instruction.
Click on the Drop Down Arrow besides the agent's name and Edit Agent.
Update the instruction for the agent with a prompt that specifies what platform the test case will be used in. If it's a popular platform, the AI will have generic knowledge about the format used. Click Update.
In the chat, prompt it to generate the a test case.
Tracking the Test Case
Using a Project
Create a Project and switch to the Table view.
Add the necessary Custom Fields to help track the progress and priority of the generate test cases.
The URL of the test case can be attached for easy referencing.
