🤖 What Is the Workflow Generator?
Starting a project from scratch can be time-consuming. The Workflow Generator is a powerful tool that uses GPT-4 to simplify this process. You can use the generator to structure all kinds of projects, both business and personal, including:
- Project proposals and presentations
- Articles, blog posts, and essays
- Social media posts and captions
- Emails and sales pitches
- Marketing campaigns and slogans
- And much more!
⚙️ Use the Generator
You can access the Workflow Generator in three ways:
- At the top of the list of projects in your workspace / folder.
- In the ➕ New project drop-down menu.
- Inside the editor to generate blocks (see next section).
To get started, click the 🤖 AI generator icon and follow the steps below:
- Describe your project in the generator field, or
- Choose one of the available prompts and customize it.
- Click ➕ Create Project to use the generated workflow.
🎛️ AI Reprompting
Once the AI Generator has finished, you can modify the output in the following ways:
- ✏️ Click Continue writing to add context to the output.
- 🔘 Click Make longer to expand on the generated text.
- ↩️ Reprompt by typing follow-up prompts (e.g. "translate to Spanish").
➕ Generate Blocks
The Block Generator allows you to quickly insert AI-generated blocks in the editor. No matter which project view you're working with, the generator will help you populate your project with checklists, bullets, and other types of organized content.
- Open any of your projects.
- Hover the mouse at the top / bottom of the editor.
- Click ➕ Add Block and select ✨ AI Generator.
- Define a new block or choose one of the prompts from the list.
- Click ⌨️ Enter to generate a block.
- Click ➕ Insert Block to add the new block to the editor.
➕ Generate Tasks
Want to generate a main task and a comprehensive list of accompanying sub-tasks for a specific project or objective? Here's how to use the task generator inside project nodes:
- Open any of your projects.
- Select the node/line when you want to add a task and press the ⌨️ Spacebar.
- Choose the Subtask command from the list.
- Type a description of your task or objective and press ⌨️ Enter.
➕ Generate Mind Maps
Generate a list of questions, brainstorm new ideas, or break tasks into subtasks in the mind map view using a handy Taskade AI pop-up menu. Here's how it works:
- Open any of your projects.
- Choose the Mind Map view at the top.
- Click the node arrow on the right to open a Taskade AI menu.
- Choose one of the three options:
- Brainstorm: Generate ideas related to the parent node.
- Subtask: Create a high-level list of subtasks for the parent node.
- Generate Questions: Create a list of questions for the parent node.

Ran out of ideas? Taskade features dozens of AI prompt templates you can choose from:
- To access AI prompts:
- Click the
AI Prompts button at the top of the AI Chat, or
- Click your profile avatar (top right) ➡
AI Prompt Templates.
- Click the
- Choose a prompt and click Copy to save it to the clipboard.
- Paste the prompt to the Workflow Generator, AI Assistant, or AI Chat.
